Cornwall really doesn’t get better than this! The views are spectacular!
Restronguet Creek is located in the Parish of Feock and is on a small promontory where Penpol Creek joins Restronguet, and had an economic boom during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.
The Creek is a tidal inlet from the Carrick Roads and was an important waterway during the tin and copper mining boom – this history can still be seen today – The Old Tram Road was named after the horse hauled trains to Point Quay and the smelting works – The Redruth to Chacewater railway ran only as far as Devoran. In its day Devoran was one of the UK’s largest ports with large ships coming up the creek. Binfield was originally a miners cottage.
We holidayed in Point for many years (next door to Binfield) before Mum and Dad brought Binfield Cottage, a project that needed a full restoration, the site was a run down, and the single, garage with a dented Ford Cortina that Ethel (the then resident of the cottage) drove and hit the garage on numerous occasions!
Our Dad loved nothing more than creating and fixing in a garage and one of his first projects, after they moved in to ‘Binfield’ was to rebuild the single garage – which eventually turned into a two story hobby room/sail locker – with a large workshop and bathroom/garage downstairs and hobby room upstairs. Possibly the best view from a garage in the UK!

Pandora Inn Pontoon, Matt Johnson for Seasalt
With spectacular dual aspect uninterrupted views over Restronguet Creek the focus is out over the tidal waters of the Fal Estuary – straight out and over to the ‘gap’ and Pandoras Inn – the Pandora historically used for pirates smuggling and dates back to the 13th century) and the side aspect up the creek towards the village of Devoran.
Converted in 2023 to become a fresh, modern hideaway with 2 bedrooms downstairs and 2 shower rooms (1 ensuite) with luxury loft style living upstairs.
Today Restronguet Creek is recognised for its beauty and wildlife and Point is a sleepy residential village fronted by the creek.
If you have a passion for nature the bird life in the Restronguet Creek is wonderful – from the flocks of honking Canada geese who fly up and down the creek in the evening to the Oyster Catchers and Curlews digging for food at low tide.
